Pictures from the pre-battlegame ditching when Stormwall visited White Tail Hollow on Apr. 9, 2000. We had a combined turnout of over 50 Amtgarders and a good time was had by all. For more information on White Tail Hollow, click on their group logo underneath the pictures.

I'd like to thank the Shire of White Tail Hollow for receiving the
denizens of Stormwall in such fine fashion.
For those that were unable to attend, we had a combined attendance of over
50 people which made for a very enjoyable day all the way around.
The day started slowly with the usual ditching, free-for-all, and
kill-your-killer (special thanks to the Crimson Scales, Eladesmier, Vile,
and the White Roses for your honor and great attitudes).
As more people showed up, we enjoyed a progressively larger ditch battle
evening out at about 25 vs 10 on most battles. No one lost their temper
and I didn't notice too many complaints (except some jaded EH sword knight
couldn't wrap his noodle around the fact we call it a 'ditch' down here &
not a 'trench'...he'll learn...).
About midday we had a timed bridge battle (class abilities) organized by
Sir Corbin. It lasted quite a while and a good time was had by all (well,
except maybe Drax and Akuma who couldn't grasp the whole
'stay-on-the-bridge-or-you-die' concept). Winners would tend to be the
'Damia team' as they actually won a round before we had to alter the rules
to disallow cheesy magic tricks.
Afterwards, we had a huge game of capture-the-hat (class abilities,
everyone 1st level) with about 20 players per side and two reeves.
Again, no one seemed to have a bad time and the game ended on a tie (3 to
3) after about an hour and a half. It looked to be a lot of fun, but I was
too busy trying to keep the teams balanced, taking pictures, and getting
assaulted by the other Reeve to participate. Maybe next time!
Afterwards all the denizens of WTH seemed to disappear leaving just a
bunch of Stormwallers to ditch some more. The Stormwallers were the first
to arrive and the last to leave and I was proud of the way that you all
carried yourselves. Hopefully the denizens of WTH had equally as much fun.
Special thanks to Akuma and Plague for hanging around to do clean-up and
making sure the lost-and-found was accounted for (even tho it wasn't
their park nor responsibility). I'll put in a good word for you to the
Duke of Stormwall. If he wasn't such a bad guy, he might even give you an
award or somethin....
All in all, an excellent day of Amtgard and good will between groups.
Hopefully we can do it again before the end of the reign. It was really
nice to see a bunch of Amtgarders just having a "hell of a time" without
the politics and personal greivances that have become so common in the
Kingdom proper.
Thank you all for coming out and I'll see you next Sunday at 'the Wall'.
Pictures will be up on the Stormwall web page (and available for the WTH
page) as soon as I have time to
add them.
Don't forget, we have Stormwall midreign in about a month complete with a
Masquerade Ball (come as another Amtgarder). Flyers will be
available at the park or you can contact Elora Raven Goldmoon
(elora@wt,net) for more information. Hope to see a bunch of you out there!
