Let's Play

Three Man!

You are visitor to this site!

Welcome to the online home of the chance-oriented drinking game of three man! The usual disclaimer: If you are in a place where your age, mental state, velocity, or the firearm hidden in your pocket should prohibit you from consuming large quantities of alcohol, please obey the local regulations and refrain from indulging in an alcoholic beverage (or any other mind-altering substance). All that aside, I am sure you are here to learn how to play the game, not to be lectured on the princinples of responsible drinking

I hope you find it informative and if you have anything to add, or would like to be lectured on the principles of responsible drinking please send any commentary to me.

Supplies for 3 Man

Rules for 3 Man

  1. Determine the 3 Man by going around the circle, everyone rolling a die until someone rolls a 3. The person who rolls the three becomes the three man and gets to wear the head ornament (mentioned above) chosen to designate the three man.
  2. Any time a 3 or any combination that equals 3 comes up, the 3 Man drinks. That means a 3 on one die or the sum of the two dice equals 3. Sucks to be 3 Man.
  3. The rolling goes around the table and when it gets to the 3 Man, they only roll one die. If they roll a 3, they are no longer the 3 Man. See Rule # 1.
  4. Any time that the sum of the 2 dice is 6, everyone salutes. The last person to salute has to drink.
  5. Any time that the sum of the 2 dice is 7, the person to the left of the roller has to drink.
  6. Any time that the sum of the 2 dice is 9, everyone picks up their glasses, cans, etc. and says "OY!" The last person to do so has to drink.
  7. Any time the sum of the 2 dice is 11, the person to the right of the roller has to drink.
  8. Any time the sum of the 2 dice is 12, the roller gets to make a rule. Use your imagination.
  9. If the dice are dropped or rolled off the table, call "dice abuse" and the idiot who did it must finish their drink.
  10. Any time doubles are rolled, the roller picks someone to drink (NOT the 3 Man - he's doing enough drinking of his own). The roller then rolls both dice to determine how many drinks the designated person must take. optional rule-If a six comes up on either die, you keep rolling and adding to the total until you roll without a 6 coming up on one (or both) die. All other rules still apply (i.e. two 3s are rolled. Everyone must salute, the 3 Man takes 2 drinks, & the roller picks someone to drink).

Variations for the Adventurous

Three man is a simple concept that is easy to pick up and is different each time you play it. Incongruous as it seems, this drinking game that involves memory skills and reaction times seldom fails to entertain. As with any game, some people are convinced they can improve it by the addition of a house rule or two and below are a couple of the more 'interesting' ones we have seen.
