From the GMR
November 13, 2003
NUMBER ONE:
Druid Clarification:
No, you may not use Pass Without Trace while moving.
Regardless of what you might have read, I can't recall
any "Class Abilities" that can be used while moving
EXCEPT Barbarian Fight After Death (but wouldn't it be
funny to watch if they *couldn't* move?)
Now, that might change in 6.12x but until then, no.
NUMBER TWO:
Arrow Dimensions:
It has been brought to my attention that there is an
error in my previously posted "Minimum Safety Criteria
for Archery Equipment" rules. The MINIMUM diameter for
an Amtgard legal arrow is 2.5 inches, not 2 inches as
previously posted. My typo, my bad.
NUMBER THREE:
Class Credits:
(This is not a ruling, per se, just a statement of"how it should be") Credits may not be earned outside
of normal Amtgard functions unless approved (either in
advance or after-the-fact) by the local or Kingdom
Monarch. This goes for non-Amtgard-planned trips to
(or working at) the Renaissance Festival, as well as
impromptu gatherings, role-playing games,
Company-or-Household Meetings, birthday/holiday
parties or other non-advertised, non-official,
non-open-to-the-general-public functions.
IRCA RULINGS
1. Wizards can successful(ly) dispel enchantments
(such as Protection from Magic or Stoneskin) that were
cast directly upon a Paladin or Anti-Paladin.
WLGMR sez: Right on. 'Bout damn time.
2. Invulnerabilities do not interact with attacks that
a player is immune to or cannot be affected by. For
instance, a Paladin or Monk wearing Stoneskin does not
lose a point of Stoneskin when Cursed.
WLGMR sez: While I personally disagree with this,
I guess we're stuck with it for now. I hate Stoneskins
enough as they are without adding MORE power to them.
And that's EXACTLY what this ruling does: makes it
harder to knock off Invulnerables.
3. Bards may not Mimic Paladins and Anti-Paladins
unless they are normally eligible to play those
classes because they have been Knights for 12 weeks.
WLGMR sez: Well, duh.
4. Neither Transform nor Reincarnation may be cast
upon an unwilling player.
WLGMR sez: Again, duh.
5, 6 and 7. Monks above 2nd level are immune to Healer
Yield. Monks above 2nd level are immune to Druid
Confusion. Monks above 2nd level are immune to Druid
Feeblemind.
WLGMR: Haven't they always been immune to these
CHARM and CONTROL magics?
Once again, the IRCA doles out another round of
unwanted, un-needed, duh-oriented rulings. Are you
guys ready to get out of this Inter-Kingdom crap-trap
yet and go back to doing things *our way*? Or shall we
just get used to the random Edicts From Afar?
(oh, here it comes...)
Any other questions?
